Rapture: Worlds End?

As you may have been reading all over the internet today is the day that the world is suppose to end. If you haven't read about it then here is the latest found on Yahoo News -

We the people are confused about this speculation. Being a Christian we have prayed not out of fear for the rapture but for its coming. We will rejoice in its arrival.
For Christian it should be a day of rejoicing not sorrow or tears. Upon the coming of the Rapture Christians will be in glory with Christ.

We are confused because we don't understand how or why any pastor or Christian would go to these "publicized extremes" to claim a given date. Jesus talks about end-time events and explains how people will be going about their daily life when the rapture happens. No one knows when that appointed time will be except God himself.

We the people don't condemn or look down on the minister who started this or the people that believed him. We feel saddened by how they tried to dictate something that only God knows.
