We just read that both Medicare and Social Security are struggling worse then believed. The reason here is the effect retiring baby boomers are having on those systems and weaker-than-expected tax receipts. Now these "trust funds" are looking to be gone by 2024. That is five years earlier then before.
We the people are confused. If congress is really so dang worried about both medicare and social security why is it they continually take from it?
Over the last 30 or 40 years congress has lowered the amount of tax monies going into funds while "requiring" peoples of a certain age to take medicare regardless if they want it or not. If that isn't enough congress voted to give themselves Social Security benefits despite the fact that most, if not all of them don't need that income.
We the people think its about time that congress grows some balls and starts working FOR THE PEOPLE!! NOT AGAINST THE PEOPLE!!
Congress can do the right thing and save medicare and social security but they choose to let it fail.
